A BOLD Voice Takes on NYC Mayor Over a Controversial Issue, You Won’t Believe This

The recent death of Jordan Neely on the New York City subway has sparked controversy and raised questions about mental health care and law enforcement. While some Democrats like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are quick to blame law enforcement for Neely’s death, others are calling for a more nuanced approach to the situation.

Neely was in the midst of a mental breakdown, threatening and yelling at passengers on the subway when a 24-year-old Marine veteran put him in a chokehold for about 15 minutes.

Two other passengers also restrained him by holding down his arms and shoulders. Despite their efforts, Neely lost consciousness and was later declared dead at the hospital.

The New York City Medical Examiner’s Office ruled Neely’s death a homicide caused by pressure to the neck. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office promised to review the Medical Examiner’s report and footage, identify and interview witnesses and obtain medical records.

While the left is quick to blame law enforcement for Neely’s death, it’s important to recognize the bravery of the individuals who stepped in to protect their fellow citizens. It’s also important to address the mental health issues that can lead to situations like this.

Let’s not let politics cloud our judgment. Instead of blaming cops for the actions of mentally unstable individuals, let’s work towards better mental health care and support for those in need.
