A Startling Challenge to the Biden Administration’s Afghanistan Narrative

As the Biden administration continues to struggle with multiple crises, including the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, a new survey shows that the president’s approval ratings are plummeting among Republicans.

According to a recent poll conducted by the conservative-leaning Rasmussen Reports, only 9% of Republican voters now approve of Biden’s job performance.

The poll, which surveyed likely voters nationwide from April 3-5, found that overall, 43% of respondents approve of Biden’s performance, while 55% disapprove. Among Republicans, 89% disapprove, while 6% are undecided.

This is a sharp decline from January when a similar Rasmussen poll found that 23% of Republicans approved of Biden’s job performance. The president’s overall approval rating has also declined from 50% in January.

The poll also found that 39% of voters believe that Biden is doing a worse job than former President Donald Trump, while 34% believe he is doing a better job.

Despite the declining numbers, Biden has maintained a positive approval rating among Democrats, with 84% approving of his job performance. However, the latest numbers suggest that he will need to work harder to gain the support of Republicans if he hopes to pass any major legislation in the future.
