Every single House Democrat on the committee responsible for the release of whistleblower testimony regarding the Hunter Biden tax probe made a shocking decision to keep vital information hidden from the American public. This is a clear indication of their unwillingness to hold the Biden administration accountable for its actions.
Recently, two courageous IRS whistleblowers came forward to accuse the Biden administration of obstructing U.S. Attorney David Weiss’ investigation into President Biden’s son. These whistleblowers alleged that the Department of Justice not only provided preferential treatment to Hunter Biden but also deliberately slowed down the investigation and turned a blind eye to glaring conflicts of interest.
In a disgraceful display of partisan loyalty, House Democrats, led by Chair Jason Smith, voted to conceal nearly 400 pages of whistleblower testimony from the public. This outrageous decision was made despite the overwhelming evidence of misconduct and special treatment in the investigation of Hunter Biden’s alleged tax crimes.
The Republicans on the committee, however, acted with integrity and in good faith throughout the entire process. They diligently shared information and ensured that Democrats were given equal opportunities to participate in the whistleblower interviews.
The Democrats’ refusal to acknowledge the damning testimonies and their attempt to sidestep the truth will undoubtedly be regretted as more facts emerge and the court of public opinion weighs in.
Representative Kevin Hern, a member of the committee, rightly called out his Democratic counterparts for their betrayal of the American people. By voting against transparency and accountability, the Democrats are essentially covering up for Hunter Biden and enabling his illegal actions. It is truly shocking to witness elected officials participating in such a blatant cover-up of crimes committed by a powerful political family.
In response to the Democrats’ objections, Representative Richard Neal, the top Democrat on the committee, attempted to divert attention by criticizing the GOP’s “process.” However, this is a weak argument that fails to address the fundamental issue at hand – the need for transparency and fairness in investigating potential crimes.
It is worth noting that when the committee voted to release former President Trump’s tax returns, the Democrats were quick to support transparency. But now, when it comes to Hunter Biden and the Biden family, they are obstructing the truth and protecting their own.
This blatant double standard and the Democrats’ refusal to hold the Biden administration accountable only erode the trust of the American people.
