Another shocking scandal rocks the Department of Energy. You’ll never guess who’s involved!

In a stunning revelation, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm has been caught in a web of deceit and false statements regarding her stock ownership. Sen. John Barrasso, a dedicated fighter for truth and integrity, has called for an immediate investigation into Granholm’s financial mishaps, which have eroded the public’s trust in her and the Department of Energy.

Barrasso, the ranking member on the Senate Energy and Natural Resource Committee, wasted no time in demanding accountability. In a letter to the Department of Energy Inspector General, Barrasso highlighted Granholm’s repeated noncompliance with financial rules and regulations, as well as her disregard for ethical standards. He emphasized the importance of holding cabinet officials accountable when they fail to uphold the letter of the law.

The evidence against Granholm is damning. During her under-oath testimony before the Energy and Natural Resource Committee in April, she categorically denied owning individual stocks. However, it has now come to light that she owned shares in six undisclosed companies and that her husband owned shares in Ford Motor Company.

Granholm’s actions raise serious questions about her integrity and judgment. Not only did she violate financial disclosure rules, but she also failed to disclose $240,000 worth of stock sales within the legally-mandated timeframe. This pattern of deception is deeply troubling and should not be taken lightly.

Sen. Josh Hawley, another fierce advocate for truth and transparency, has launched his own investigation into Granholm’s finances. Hawley rightly questions why Granholm did not immediately notify the committee when she discovered her disclosure error and why it took her four weeks to sell her shares in the six undisclosed companies.

The American people deserve leaders who are honest and ethical. Granholm’s repeated lies and financial improprieties have shattered the trust placed in her and the Department of Energy. It is imperative that a thorough investigation is conducted to uncover the truth and hold Granholm accountable for her actions.

We cannot afford to have public officials who play fast and loose with the rules. The American people deserve better, and it is up to us to demand accountability from those in power. Sen. Barrasso and Sen. Hawley have taken the lead in this crucial fight for truth and integrity. Let us stand with them and ensure that the truth prevails.
