The Democrats continue to prove that they care more about power than doing what’s right for the American people. Despite promising to do so, House Speaker and California Republican Rep. Kevin McCarthy may not be able to fulfill his promise of axing anti-American congresswoman Ilhan Omar from the House Intelligence Committee.
This is due to a lack of support from fellow Republicans, Victoria Spartz of Indiana and Nancy Mace of South Carolina, who have hinted that they will not support the move.
“Two wrongs do not make a right. As I spoke against it on the House floor two years ago, I will not support this charade again,” Rep. Spartz said, The Hill reported.
This is a clear indication that these Republican congresswoman care more about being politically correct than standing up for what is right. Omar has a history of making anti-Semitic and anti-American statements, yet these Republicans refuse to take a stand against her dangerous rhetoric.
It’s not just these Republicans who are failing to do their jobs, Democrat Adam Schiff also continues to prove that he is more interested in his own political gain than serving the American people. Schiff announced his campaign for the Senate seat of California Democrat Sen. Dianne Feinstein, who has not announced her retirement.
In a tweet, Schiff said, “Our democracy is at great risk. Because GOP leaders care more about power than anything else. And because our economy isn’t working for millions of hard-working Americans. We’re in the fight of our lives—a fight I’m ready to lead as California’s next U.S. Senator.”
This statement is not only false but it’s also a clear indication that Schiff cares more about attacking the Republican party than serving the American people. Instead of focusing on the issues that matter to the American people, Schiff is more interested in attacking Fox News personalities and former President Donald Trump.
It’s clear that the Democrats will stop at nothing to hold onto power, even if it means turning a blind eye to the dangerous rhetoric of one of their own congresswoman. The Republicans need to stand up and do what is right, even if it means going against their own party. The American people deserve better.
