In a move that has sent shockwaves through the political world, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) has made the bold decision to block Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) from serving on the House Intelligence Committee.
This decision comes as a direct result of Schiff’s questionable actions during his tenure as Chairman of the committee, where he repeatedly lied to the American public about the Russia collusion investigation and used his position of power to push a false narrative.
Kevin McCarthy just kicked me and @RepSwalwell off the Intelligence Committee.— Adam Schiff (@RepAdamSchiff) January 25, 2023
This is petty, political payback for investigating Donald Trump.
If he thinks this will stop me, he will soon find out just how wrong he is.
I will always defend our democracy.
Twitter users have been quick to point out Schiff’s past and question why he should even be serving on the committee in the first place. Newsmax analyst Jessie Jane Duff wrote, “You lied to the American public about Russia collusion and got caught.
Only a pathological liar would continue with this dishonest charade.” Journalist Glenn Greenwald tweeted, “Yes, [Rep Adam Schiff], that’s the whole point: You’re free to keep lying from other committees. What you can’t do any longer is abuse your power as House Intel Chair to leak to [Manu Raju] and others or impose the credibility of that position on blatant lies.”

These sentiments were echoed by others on social media, with Podcaster Tim Pool declaring Schiff a “bad person.” Radio host Andrew Wilkow went as far as to accuse Schiff of abusing “your position to promote what you knew was a hoax.
It was the apex of unethical behavior. All that is happening is another [democrat] will take your place. Now you are making threats. What? Are you going to unleash another deep state ‘whistleblower’?”
House Speaker McCarthy has defended his decision to block Schiff, stating that Schiff had “lied to the American public” and “used his position as chairman, knowing he has information the rest of America does not, and lied to the American public.”
This decision by McCarthy shows that he is not afraid to make the tough decisions, even when it comes to going against members of his own party. This is the type of leadership that passionate Republican voters have been calling for and it is clear that McCarthy is willing to put the interest of the American people first.
It is time for the Democrats to stop their antics and start working for the good of the American people. The actions of Adam Schiff are a prime example of why the Democrats should not be trusted with the power of government.
This decision by McCarthy is a step in the right direction and it is time for the Democrats to start being held accountable for their actions. As always, it’s time for us to put America first.
