Vice President Kamala Harris is facing unpopularity, even among Democrats. Her approval rating has consistently stayed in the low 40s, and her unpopularity could ultimately determine the outcome of the 2024 presidential election.
Republican strategists believe that Harris is a thorn in Biden’s side heading into the next election. Conservative columnist Kristin Tate has called Harris “one of the most unlikable and uninspiring public figures in modern political history.”
Harris’ unpopularity has been a mainstay since her White House run in 2019 when then-Democrat Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii tore into the candidate who would later be Biden’s vice presidential pick on national television.
The Biden administration has already faced criticism over their handling of the economy, the border crisis, and foreign policy issues. Harris’ unpopularity adds another layer of challenge to their re-election campaign.
