Amy Klobuchar, a Democrat from Minnesota, has come to the defense of Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, after his attendance at a state dinner where Attorney General Merrick Garland was present. During her appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Klobuchar dismissed any connection between Hunter’s plea agreement and his presence at the state dinner. She boldly stated, “You know, I think as the president explained, that’s his son. That’s a separate thing.”

What makes this situation even more puzzling is the fact that Hunter Biden was seen at a White House state dinner held in honor of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alongside Garland and Klobuchar. When questioned about this, Klobuchar quickly shifted the blame, citing the decision as one made by an independent prosecutor who is a Trump-appointed U.S. attorney.
With Republicans expressing concerns over the handling of Hunter Biden’s case, Klobuchar attempted to divert attention to President Biden’s accomplishments. She argued that if Republicans chose to focus on this issue in the upcoming election, they would be overshadowed by the president’s success in bringing 13 million jobs back to America.
Host Chuck Todd pressed Klobuchar further, emphasizing the perception problem caused by Hunter Biden’s attendance at the state dinner. He inquired if she wished the perception were different, to which she responded dismissively, “You always wish there were different perceptions, but that’s not reality.”
Klobuchar then proceeded to list what she believes to be the true realities that people care about, such as access to healthcare and job opportunities.
