CNN conducted a survey on the recent indictment of former President Donald Trump by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. The survey asked if Americans approve or disapprove of the decision to indict Trump. Out of the respondents, 60 percent expressed approval, while 40 percent expressed disapproval.
The survey also found that three-quarters of Americans believed politics played some role in the decision to indict Trump.
CNN’s poll findings were criticized by Rep. Lauren Boebert, who took to Twitter to voice her opinion. Boebert criticized the poll, calling it fake and suggesting that the results favoring Trump’s indictment were not accurate.
Boebert’s criticism reflects the polarized political climate in the country, where Republicans are more likely to support Trump and his policies, while Democrats are more likely to oppose him.
This polarization is also evident in the survey results, where 94 percent of Democrats support the indictment, while 79 percent of Republicans disapprove of it.
The indictment of Trump has been a controversial issue, with some Republicans supporting him and others opposing him. Sen. Ted Cruz said that the “substance” of the political persecution is utter garbage, while Nikki Haley believes that the indictment is politically motivated. Meanwhile, some Democrats have hailed the indictment as a step towards holding Trump accountable for his actions.
