The co-hosts of “The View” have accused Jill Biden of having “racial blind spots” for inviting the University of Iowa women’s basketball team to the White House after they lost to the LSU Tigers.
Critics have called her comments tone-deaf and racially insensitive, as the star player of the winning team, Angel Reese of LSU, is black, while Iowa’s leading scorer, Caitlin Clark, is white.
But it’s unfair to accuse Biden of unconscious bias or racial blind spots without any evidence. Maybe she didn’t know that only the winning team is invited to the White House.
Maybe she was just trying to make nice to everybody. This controversy is just another example of the left’s obsession with identity politics.
