You’ll NEVER Guess Who’s Citing Progressive Studies to Attack

Former President Donald Trump’s recent attacks on Florida Governor Ron DeSantis have garnered attention due to his use of progressive studies to back up his statements. While some political strategists view the tactic as “bizarre,” others believe it could be a wise strategy for Trump. Despite DeSantis being presumed to be Trump’s main rival for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination, he has not yet announced his candidacy.

Republican strategist Colin Reed spoke out about the attacks, saying, “These types of political attacks are bizarre and what voters expect from Democrat antagonists rather than fellow Republicans.” The playbook released by Trump, called “The Real Ron DeSantis Playbook,” questions DeSantis’ record as governor on issues such as a “failing education system” and a “failing medical” environment. The playbook even cited sources such as the National Low Income Housing Coalition, Florida Policy Institute, and MSNBC Host Joy Reid.

Despite criticism, Democratic strategist Kevin Walling believes that Trump’s attacks from the left are a wise strategy, stating, “I think former President Trump has well established his conservative bona fides.”

However, Republican strategists such as Kevin Seifert and Doug Heye view Trump’s attacks on DeSantis as inconsistent, with Seifert stating, “No one should be shocked he has gone from praising DeSantis’ record to trashing it in the blink of an eye.”
