Former President Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential bid received a significant boost with Rep. Jim Jordan, a founding member of the House Freedom Caucus, announcing his unwavering support for Trump.
This development follows Texas GOP Rep. Chip Roy’s endorsement of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for the presidency, despite DeSantis not yet declared his candidacy.
Jordan has been vocal in his criticism of the Democrat-led House Committee, accusing it of conducting investigations against Trump with the sole purpose of preventing him from running in 2024.
He claims the now-disbanded committee was a “political operation” targeting Trump.
In addition, House Republicans released a report implicating then-House Speaker, Democrat Rep. Nancy Pelosi, for the security and intelligence failures during the January 6 Capitol incident.
The report alleges that Pelosi’s office worked closely with law enforcement prior to the incident and turned down vital requests for assistance from federal law enforcement.
With Republicans unifying behind Trump, the contrast between his strong leadership and the current administration’s shortcomings is becoming increasingly evident, posing a significant challenge to the Biden camp in the 2024 elections.
