More than a dozen Republican Senators are taking a stand against President Biden’s failure to address a major breach of U.S. sovereignty.

They are demanding a full accounting of the spy balloon and its mission. This isn’t the first time they have voiced their concerns; previous letters were sent to the Secretary of Defense, the Director of National Intelligence, and even the White House itself.
It has been four months since the Chinese surveillance balloon crossed U.S. territory, yet the American people have received no explanation from the Biden administration. The senators want to know how this spy platform was allowed to traverse our sovereign territory, what it carried, and what information it collected.
They are also calling for accountability, urging the administration to take appropriate steps to hold China responsible for this blatant violation of U.S. sovereignty.
This incident is not an isolated event but part of a larger pattern of aggression by the Chinese Communist Party. The People’s Republic of China, under the control of the CCP, has shown a complete disregard for our national security.
They have conducted dangerous maneuvers against U.S. aircraft and ships, supported Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, harassed American companies in China, and committed gross human rights violations. This is on top of their relentless threats to Taiwan, a free and democratic nation.
It is high time for the Biden administration to fulfill its promise of protecting America from China’s threats. The American people deserve transparency and answers. The senators are calling on President Biden to direct his administration to release all relevant information to the public regarding the Chinese spy balloon.
The Republican Senators are not alone in their concerns. They have been joined by their colleagues who are equally dedicated to safeguarding our national security. Senators Bill Hagerty, Jim Risch, Susan Collins, Tom Cotton, John Cornyn, James Lankford, Michael Rounds, Jerry Moran, Deb Fischer, Joni Ernst, Kevin Cramer, Rick Scott, Ted Budd, Eric Schmitt, Tommy Tuberville, Markwayne Mullin, and Dan Sullivan have all signed the letter.
It remains to be seen if President Biden will take decisive action and address this issue head-on. The American people are counting on him to protect our sovereignty and national security.
